🌲“But the most astonishing thing about trees is how social they are. The trees in a forest care for each other, sometimes even going so far as to nourish the stump of a felled tree for centuries after it was cut down by feeding it sugars and other nutrients, and so keeping it alive ... A tree’s most important means of staying connected to other trees is a “wood wide web” of soil fungi that connects vegetation in an intimate network that allows the sharing of an enormous amount of information and goods.” Peter Wohlleben, Author of ‘The Hidden Life of Trees’. 🌿The tragedy of the Amazon fires has had us thinking about the importance of old growth forests. When old ecosystems are destroyed by man and industry-caused fire, we lose milennia of networks via root systems and mycelium. Not soon to be recreated after devastation. A huge part of the magic behind medicinal mushrooms and tonic herbs is respecting the wisdom of the land they have been growing on for thousands of years. Di Tao methods of sourcing herbs; grown in bacteria rich soils, surrounded by wild forests, means that we and other herbalists are tied to the forests and land that carries innate and irreplacebale wisdom. This is not renewable. We're mindful of how we can build a company that will reflect these sentiments and nurture a future world that generations will be able to learn from. Besides sourcing from areas that helps to protect the area for big industry, we like contributing a portions of sales every month to a cause that is saving or resourcing the oceanic wilderness and forests. Currently we're working with @halfcutorg thanks to our mate, chef @_paul_west_ to contribute funds for locking up and saving the Daintree, please get on board and help. The Rainforest Trust 'Saving Indigenous Land in The Amazon' campaign has also just been launched by Half Cut, and we’ll be contributing a further donation to support this big effort, which focuses on western part of the Amazon basin (also known as Andes-Amazonia). Thank you so much to all of you in the SuperFeast community for making this ongoing contribution possible. Together, we can make a difference. 🌱🌳🌿
