Ingredients π 30g shea butter π 24g jojoba oil (or macadamia oil, liquid coconut oil or sweet almond oil) π 14g vegetable-derived emulsifying wax π 120g filtered water π 6g potato starch or arrowroot or tapioca π 1tsp Tremella (aids the skin to hold moisture) π 1tsp Reishi (powerful anti-aging compounds) Optional: Essential oils can also have an antiaging effect & provide a nice scent! Lavender, frankincense, tea tree & peppermint are some other beautiful options) ** π This recipe is created by @PennyBenjamin.Nutritionist. Method π1. Melt the shea butter, jojoba oil & emulsifying wax together in a double boiler. π2. Allow to cool to about 40-45 degrees celsius. π3. Heat the water to about 40-45 degrees celsius (either on the stove, kettle or microwave). Basically, the oil mixture & water need to be similar temperatures.
π 4. Transfer the water to something that will be easy to use an immersion blender in. Add the potato starch & mushrooms to the water. π5. Add the oil mixture. π6. Use an immersion blender to combine the oil & water mixture, it should emulsify into a beautiful face cream. π7. Transfer the face cream to a jar & place in the fridge for a day. After 24 hours, stir through any essential oils you wish to use. π8. You need to store the face cream in the fridge (as this is preservative-free!) π» π· π»
