We totally understand why there is that interest because like you, we care about where our food and medicines come from and the care that is taken to make sure they are going to give our bodies the type of nourishment and healing we crave. This may come as a shock to some of you, but the short answer to this question is : no
Stay with us here...the truth is we are BEYOND Organic. And thats not just a fancy word to try to make ourselves feel better. The fact of the matter is that we work with many small, independent farmers in remote rural areas of China. 🌿We prefer to work with independent farms whose methods are aligned with our ‘earth first’ ethos where growing practices nourish the land and follow the lineage of the herbal lore. We’re not so keen on supporting large umbrella companies as these operations are generally business driven with focus placed on market profitability as opposed to traditional herbalism. This is just the nature of their structure and incentive. Generally products with an organic certification have more security in regards to shelf sales than those that are grown via traditional practices, so it is in the interest of these companies to hand out organic certifications to the farms that work under their business structure. Organic certification is expensive and the small independent farms we prefer to work with are unable to cover this cost despite employing farming practices that produce a product that is “beyond organic”.
