There are, according to @SethGodin, 100 mega companies that are responsible for the current climate crisis. It would take them shifting their business models and owning their contribution to make a significant impact on slowing the rate of climate warming. When you hear statistics like that it can feel really overwhelming - like there is nothing we can do while the businessmen and bureaucrats keep wreaking havoc. But that’s disempowering and not true. We each have a role to play, a part in the drama that is unfolding, and we vote with our energy, our time, our money. Whatever small thing you can do, from not supporting mega corporations, avoiding mass media (where they spend their advertising dollars for your attention), becoming more educated about how the political system and policy works, to planting a seedling in a patch of dirt or picking up some trash from the side of the road or beach, we can each start to take responsibility for our part in it. We can change the world with a tiny, personal revolution. Like the butterfly flapping its wings, as each of us changes, we all change. It’s the tens of millions of little things that we can all do.
