Used for thousands of years in the Arctic regions, Chaga is revered for being one the most adaptive substance on the earth. Tribes throughout its native growing regions use Chaga to assist the body's natural capacity to resist stress and in such an extreme climate, adaptive substances are precious.   Otherwise known as Inonotus obliquus, Chaga is a medicinal mushroom that grows on birch trees in temperate climates. It's actually not completely accurate to call it a mushroom - rather, it is the sclerotia of the mushroom that grows on the birch trees, and humans harvest for its medicinal value. Chaga has a symbiotic relationship with the tree on which it grows. What’s truly amazing about Chaga is that its DNA structure is 30% more human than it is plant. Birch, Chaga's preferred host tree, is itself a powerful medicinal plant, and much of the potency of Chaga comes from the alchemy that occurs when the birch and the Chaga combine.
