We've been sharing a lot about the relationship between libido and Jing over the last few weeks, and have been getting a lot of people who are new to tonic herbalism wanting to better understand their Jing Essence and especially how to preserve and nourish it.   A quick recap: our Jing Essence is stored in our Kidneys and is our foundational, primal life force. One of the main, if not the main focus of Daoism is to cultivate longevity and vitality, and the simplest way to do this is to ensure we are not leaking our Jing and taking from those deep reserves of life force energy. We want to be utilising our daily Qi Essence.   So what is a simple and easily maintained way to ensure you aren't burning the candles at both ends? - find a little bit of joy every day.  Even if it's just 5 minutes of your day, take a moment to stop, breathe and just have a laugh, get in nature, ground into the elements and put aside all the constantly swirling responsibilities and worries that come with being an adult, and just be.  That's a pretty good place to start if you ask us.
