Animals love tonic herbs and medicinal mushrooms too! This is Bunny, she loves Reishi to keep her grounded. We are often asked whether it’s okay to give your dog/cat/horse etc. herbs and the simple answer is yes! Medicinal mushrooms and tonic herbs are Qi tonics and in general can support the treatment of symptoms that Classical Chinese Medicine recognise as ‘Excess Damp, Damp Phlegm or Damp Heat’ which can manifest as diarrhoea, UTI’s, diseases of the Kidney and Liver, inflammatory conditions in the joints or skin etc. Medicinal Mushrooms also contain many different vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and sterols - they can be served up in your pets main meal, in some melted coconut oil, butter or honey. As a general rule, you can give your animals a dose of SuperFeast herbs at 20mg to 50mg per kilo of body weight. So a 40kg dog, you’d want to give them 1/8-1/2 tsp daily. If you’re new to this world, it’s always best to consult your veterinary physician or animal herbalist, especially if your pet is on any medication! #animals #tonicherbs #petcare #health #wellness
