When developing the concept for the Alumina range, we set out to create an adaptable and accessible light for modern living that was suitable for day-to-day use.⠀

With a focus on function, materiality and colour, we took inspiration from architecture, in particular the pragmatism of the Bauhaus school of design. A key reference was the impressive cluster of 1930’s Bauhaus buildings in Tel Aviv called ‘The White City’, as depicted by Yigal Gawze in his book, Form and Light: From Bauhaus to Tel Aviv.⠀
