Eggs 🥚 🍳 Are an animal protein which means it contain amino acids arginine and glutamine, which are the building blocks for repairing damaged intestinal walls and gut lining. Egg yolks are protein-rich sources of vitamin A, and are excellent sources of vitamin D. They also contain all of your B vitamins, E and K. Vitamin D is essential in repairing the gut because it helps manage intestinal inflammation, strengthen the mucosal barrier, and helps reduce the damage gut cells. B vitamins are important because they are involved in the breakdown of amino and fatty acids so our body’s are able to use and send them to the right places. Egg yolks are also a fantastic source of protein and cholesterol needed to keep our brains cognitive function and grey matter healthy. When you’re looking for vitamins and minerals to help heal your gut your first priority should be to get it from real and whole foods sources.
