Hi there!
I bet now you’re wondering how you can support the health of your skin without having to buy more skincare products. If thats you, you’re in the right place! Below we will start a thread to teach you easy, simple, and minimal ingredient foods that you can make that are nutrient dense and will go straight to your skin!
To start it off, our absolute favorite way to nourish our skin from the inside out!! We have this daily and love to share with our loved ones when they’re in town!
Knuckle Bone broth - you can use chicken or beef bones! With the ingredients and measurements below your broth will not only be delicious but also so nutrient dense that it’ll have the texture of Jello which translates to being so rich in gelatin!
Ingredients :
1.5lbs of grass finished bone marrow bones or knuckle bones (you can find this at your local butcher or farmer)
1/2 onion with skin still on
1 garlic bulb sliced down the middle
3 dried chili peppers
2.5 tablespoons of @redmondsrealsalt
2 teaspoons of whole pepper corn
2 star anise
5 cloves
1 bay leaf
1.5in ginger root sliced
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
water to fill up to 2 inches above bones
Whole, nourishing, and real food ingredients! Add all of those ingredients to your slow cooker, cook for 12-24 hours, let it cool then transfer to 1/2 gallon mason jars (or any size) then into the refrigerator. You can drink it or add it to any recipe right away or you can store it in the fridge and warm it on the stove daily for breakfast (like me)!
Why bone broth? Bone marrow is one of the most nutrient dense foods God has created. Bone marrow has vitamins A, B2, B16, E, high in omega 3s, and minerals such as selenium, calcium, iron, zinc. Bone marrow includes glucosamine and chondroitin which are the whole and natural form for arthrisis and joint pain support. Vitamin B12 is essential for bone, joint, skin and immune health and omega 3s are essential for brain, gut, skin, and hormone health. Vitamins in bone marrow are known to support the body’s natural process of cell regeneration and renewal which heavily impacts the elasticity and health for the skin.
