Legend has it …that in the 17th century a valiant pirate turned knight was rewarded by his king with a prestigious estate that extended from the mountains just outside of Palma to the other side of the island on Mallorca’s North Coast. The knight, Don Francisco de Net, searched for the finest location within his estate upon which to build his family mansion. He chose a site on the crest of a hill overlooking the tranquil village of Puigpunyent. The village located in a hidden valley surrounded by majestic mountains thrived while serving the large Net estate.
Three centuries later, the old family mansion has been restored and became the Gran Hotel Son Net. The estate has been restored to its original splendor, maintaining many of its original 17th Century features.
