This month and every month we celebrate Black individuals inspiring the world of western and want to give a special callout to some of our favorite trailblazers! Today we’d like to introduce you to our friend Ramontay, as he tells us what the spirit of the west means to him. Born and raised on the outskirts of Kansas City, Missouri, @rodeoramontay was exposed to agriculture, horsemanship and rodeos at an early age. “It’s about the love of these animals. The devotion and resilience of the day-to-day chores. The admiration of the glorious skies and wide open spaces.” He says. “To me — this is an outlet. When I’m out and working with my horses, it offers me a safe space. A space of trust, respect, purpose and passion. It is one of the most rewarding relationships one can ever experience.”
