I love my body.
I love my body not for what it looks like, but for what I 𝘴𝘦𝘦.
When I look at myself in the mirror, I no longer see my physical self - I see strength, I see determination, I see pain, I see struggle, I see love. To view yourself in a different perspective aside from what’s on the surface is a challenge I want others to take on.
The scars, the body hair, the birth marks, the cellulite; all these markings on our body are our unique selves and that is something that should be admired. That admiration starts with yourself.
We are so much more than what we look like and it’s detrimental to our well being to see all the things we are that aren’t obvious to the human eye.
I aspire to live in a world where we influence women (young and old) to not photoshop out a blemish, a scar, a wound in order to be seen as beautiful. That, to me, is taking the beauty away. Our bodies aren’t meant for editing; they’re meant for enduring the life we strive to live.
