My scars saved my life and I’ve earned more than my share over the years… from this one that came from my port-a-catch to my most recent one after removing my PICC line one week ago today.
These scars have never something that I’ve ever felt embarrassed of… But as women we tend to look at the mirror and pick ourselves apart. One thing I’ve never felt sexy or confident in?
A bra. Seriously.
One of my biggest insecurities and yet also one the things I’ve always loved about myself (how ironic the duality is here isn’t lost on me) is that I’m really flat chested. Bras have never fit me: the straps always slide off, the wire hurts and I literally never actually fill the cup. Ever.
When thirdlove contacted me I was immediately on the hook. They make half sizes! I didn’t even know that was a thing?! I was certain I’d be a half-A-cup but their super detailed, but easy to use quiz sized me at my “usual” 36A.
This is the softest, most comfortable and well fitted bra I’ve owned in my entire life. I absolutely love it, I love how it feels and how it fits. And you know what? I feel confident and sexy in it.
Since getting so sick back in 2015 and having a central line (which came with another set of scars on my chest) I stopped wearing bras entirely. They weren’t comfortable, they didn’t fit. I stopped bothering.
With my thirdlove bra? I want to wear it! I choose to wear it even when I’m in my grubbiest lounge clothes.
