Today we dive behind the design and see the transformation of @lexclifford_ western inspired fireplace featuring our Instinct Karioca Tile. "We are currently renovating our house, and most of it is very clean and simple, but this fireplace is part of our self-proclaimed bar room, which we wanted to be inviting, fun, and a little funky, while still staying in tune with the modern natural look. This house is quite old, and the chimney actually had some major issues, so we invested in fixing the chimney so we can actually use the fireplace now that we decked it out. Prior to this, the space wasn’t used often. It’s crazy what some paint and tile can do to a room! While installing the tile, I didn’t lay the mud far enough to the edge, so the corner of the tile did not have anything to stick to. My husband went to paint something nearby and stepped on the corner and cracked the tile 🤭 We had to get a new piece and re-cut/lay that section. Be generous with your mud! This is your foundation for the tile and what will keep it in place. We had painted the brick a fresh white and I knew I wanted to keep that clean look, but wanted to make it a fun and semi funky space, which is what drew me to the instinct karioca tile. It’s colors are muted enough that it’s not overwhelming, but the texture and pattern of the tile is so unique. It’s the first thing people comment on when they walk into the room and I love that it’s become such a focal point!" #beforethebar . . . #tielbar #fireplacedesign #fireplacemakeover #fireplaces #fireplacemantel #fireplaces #fireplacetile #tilestyle #tilelove #tiles #ceramic #handmade #westerndesign #western #rawbeauty #home #iso #cosy #homelove #interiors #simplicity #interiordesign #slowliving #naturalliving #minimalism #dwell #creative #newhome #dailyhivevan #westcoastlove
