Let’s talk about tile 💰
There are endless opportunities when it comes to designing with tile, but there are three things to keep in mind when you’re considering cost.
1. Material - Porcelain, clay, marble are all at different price points. The same size subway tile in porcelain will be much more cost effective than in natural stone.
2. Size - There are traditional/stock sizes of tile and there are more stylized or custom sizes (think extra long subway tiles like this photo). Typically, unique shapes or sizes will cost more.
3. Layout - The tile layout, or pattern you’re hoping to create, makes a difference. A herringbone pattern costs more because the layout requires ordering more material due to more waste, plus it’s more labor intensive.
Understanding these three things can help you get the look you want within your budget!
