#repost • @katethewild One downside of thru hiking is the never ending drive to keep going. Yet everywhere you turn, beauty abounds. There were hundreds of times I just wanted to plop down right in the dirt, observe the wildlife hunt for food, watch the sunlight move slowly over the mountains, or spend hours photographing anything and everything. But alas, we must keep moving. Don’t get me wrong, there are times you can and should take a rest, but when there is an end goal in sight, it becomes this growing light that draws you ever near. Anyone else get that feeling? As fun at thru hiking is, I’m looking forward to backpacking trips where we stay put for more than one night. ✌🏻
