“I’m Anna Catherine, but most people call me AC. I grew up in Greer, South Carolina—the gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains. As a kid, my dad and I would go hiking in the mountains every weekend, so I had a love of nature instilled in me from a very young age.
As I got older, my love for adventure only grew.
In 2020, I was able to visit all 47 South Carolina State Parks, completing the “Ultimate Outsider” Challenge. However, all those hours under the sun began to catch up with me, as I was regularly experiencing bad sunburn on my scalp, neck, and face—no matter how much sunscreen I used! I needed something that would protect me from the sun, but also something I could use in a variety of activities, from rigorous hiking at the Grand Canyon, to leisurely floating along the Congaree River.
