Our church pew is loud. Dinner is loud. Nap time is short. Sledding in the snow is loud. Drinking hot chocolate is also loud (and messy). Gift opening is the loudest.
The loudness eventually ends at night, though. And the pitter-pattering of excited toddler feet up and down the hallway finally stops... I hold my littlest in the quiet aftermath. His name is the fourth and final one etched onto this beautiful @tinytags necklace. And as I hold him, I rock him gently in the silence.
I love this quiet reflection, yet I yearn and anticipate the loudness that will resume as the sun peeks through the clouds tomorrow morning. And the loudness — just as it always does — will fill my day. But most importantly, it’ll fill my heart.
