Hi! It’s been a bit since I introduced myself.
I’m Shelley. I’m a 33 year-old mom who feels 89 years-old most days. ?
My social worker hubby and I have these amazing four kids who came to us all within four years.
After trudging through #infertility treatments and grieving the loss of having biological kids, we grew our family through #adoption.
Our first baby is now F I V E. We adopted again, then found out I was pregnant right before we finalized our second daughter’s adoption. And then right when we started getting into a routine with #3under3, two pink lines showed up on a white stick. He’s the baby-baby, and he’s 14-months old now.
I’m a former TV #journalist. Now I stay home with these little kids and write freelance when I have time...which is currently almost never, LOL.
People always ask if I’ll get back into TV news. I miss it. Truly, I do. But to be honest, I think I’ve formed far too many political opinions to report unbiased on a news team anytime soon... On my social channels, I talk about motherhood, infertility, adoption, race issues and diversity. I also like sharing candids of this crazy life we’ve created here in the middle of #Iowa.
My dream is to write a children’s book. Maybe a memoir, but definitely a children’s book. I have about 5684 ideas and a few sentences written for some, but that dream continues to grow in my heart + mind in this sleepless season of motherhood. ?
