| Romans 15:13 | This has been {one of} the verses this past year that had a profound impact on me. To give some background information, for 9 years I worked a job that I absolutely loved. But a little over a year ago I felt God tugging at my heart to consider staying home with Jack full time. There were so many uncertainties and I struggled with the financial implications it would have on our family and also in a way my identity because in addition to loving my job, I was good at it... And I was just so insecure about how I would measure up and if I would kind of “lose myself” as a stay-at-home mom if that makes sense. But I also realized that my job required me to always be “on” (even after hours) and it also fed into my “high sense of urgency” which as a result, I was super busy, constantly stressed, and I was never content... there was always more I could be /should be doing for work. I remember one day feeling God distinctly telling me that He has a new season for me. A season of joy and peace and contentment that could come only from Him... and that I needed to put my hope in Him and trust Him to take care of the rest. So, I took the leap and left my career to stay home with Jack full time. And, here I am a year later and although of course there has been challenges as I know there always will be, (and my husband will tell you that I definitely still get stressed and still have that same “high sense of urgency”) but I also am amazed by the joy and peace that I have as I have found rest in Christ.
