As I’m writing my book, “CHANGE” and wrapping up my purpose-chasers focus group of my mentorship program, I keep thinking about my daughter. If I impact thousands of women yet fail to impact my own daughter, then I have failed.
I used to be afraid of having a daughter. Would she experience feelings of inferiority, inadequacy, and competition? Would she be confident and sure of herself, or apologetic and dismissive? I didn’t want any of the internal battles I faced while learning to navigate womanhood to become hers.
I’ve learned that my own personal growth, healing and example isn’t just for myself; it’s for her. Lily needs to see womanhood exemplified by confidence in self, love for others, and obedience to God.
So, I’m dedicating my book to my daughter. I also dedicate my life’s journey to her. She will inherit a legacy of confidence and courage. May she reject everything that is not for her and stand as the woman God created her to be.
