This sweet little girl saved me yesterday when I had too much ❤️.

I shared in my stories yesterday how Olive took over as little mama. After 4 days/nights of dealing with a super fussy sick baby Bear, I just kinda had a breaking point. My initial response when I start writing this is to feel shame. Because society doesn't let us speak about the ugly side, because we're all busy putting up a front, and because I need to work on letting go of my pride. .

If you're a mama I know you've been there. Your patience is gone and you feel defeated. You put the baby in his crib knowing that he's going to fuss/cry while you take a minute to "gather yourself." It's important to take that time when you know you need it. Yesterday tho, Olive heard the fussing and naturally wanted to get Bear as we don't normally let him cry. I was abrupt. I told her I didn't want him brought to me right now. I think she sensed my desperation and her nurturing little spirit took over. She kept Bear content for 20 glorious minutes (which is quite impressive given how cranky he was), while I practiced deep breathing lying on my bed-for real ?

Sometimes I think what am I doing to these kids? And then other times I think, well I must've done something right. #honestlymothering #inbeautyandchaos #motherhoodrising
