This is one of my favorite camping spots in Mammoth Lakes - I mean look at it! What’s not to love? Oh and just to the right of this scene is a lake…surrounded by snow capped peaks. This place is a vibe. It grabs you in a bear hug and drenches you in all kinds of joy! Head over to link in bio for my detailed blog on where to camp, what to do, including some unique ways to experience Mammoth Lakes. *Save post for planning!

PS: This weekend I went to volunteer at a non profit race - proceeds from the race go toward child development initiatives in the US and India. At the race my job was to MC the event and interview the runners/walkers. I must have easily interviewed about 10-15 kids under the age of 10. They RAN a 5k. One even ran the 10k. All these kids were Indian American. A few told me they loved being outdoors cause it was “fun”, made them “happy”, made them “feel like they can do anything” - I bet they’ll try backpacking & hiking in no time too! I ran my first 5/10k and half marathon in my 30s 😅! It’s of course never too late and I won’t lie..it was very hard to not run/walk with them on the trail vs staying put on the mic! But it was heartwarming to see these immigrant parents encouraging their kids to get out, so different from my own childhood! I’m curious - how old were you when you went outdoors for the first time for hiking/biking/running/camping etc?
