“I listened to the earth-talk,
the root-wrangle,
the arguments of energy,
the dreams lying
just under the surface
then rising,
becoming at the last moment
flaring and luminous-
the patient parable
of every spring and hillside
year after difficult year”
-Trilliums by Mary Oliver
Some snapshots of a recent wander in the spring woods, where I saw moss-covered rocks, fiddleheads, dozens of magenta trilliums, blooming bloodroot flowers, and more beautiful spring ephemerals. 🌿
peakdesign recently sent me their Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod and I’ve been bringing it on all my hikes and travels (gifted). Here’s what I like about it so far:
- Fits perfectly in the water bottle pocket of my hiking pack and is so easy to throw into my luggage for traveling
- It’s been really easy to use, and the features all feel intuitive
- I can set it up and take it down very quickly
- It feels surprisingly sturdy for how light it is (2.8 lbs..😱)
- There’s a phone mount stored in the tripod itself that you can easily switch out for the regular camera mount
- I can easily lock the mount into place and be sure that my camera or phone is secure (last year when using a different tripod on a trip, the entire top of it fell off while I was using it, damaging my camera lens 😒)
- When opened fully, it gets up to 60”
- The ball head makes it possible to shoot from all kinds of angles
Super excited to bring this baby with me on my upcoming trips this year ✈️🌎️
