To our dearest and most loyal fans,
We write to you today to thank you for giving us your unconditional love and support, for encouraging us to perform our music, and for sharing many good and unforgettable times with us at concerts and zabavas. Torontula is eternally grateful to you for the opportunity to grow as musicians and as people. Words cannot begin to describe what it has meant to us to be a part of such a lively Ukrainian music scene here in Toronto. It has been like a dream come true!
Regrettably, we are announcing that collectively we have decided to disband. Each of us has expressed interest in pursuing other musical endeavours, tapping into different creative outlets, and following our hearts wherever they decide to take us. Rest assured that the essence of Torontula’s sound has not been lost and will be taken with each of us, and that elements of Torontula will be heard in the music we will create in the future. Torontula is not gone, but merely expanding horizons through other musical forms.
Over the past two years, we have become stronger as musicians, entertainers, and closer as friends. We are honoured to have had the privilege of sharing this with you. As Ukrainians, we all know how long it can take to say goodbye, so we leave you with this short farewell poem.
Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean we'll miss you
