With nautical family bonding in mind, leisure-seeker and #1 Dad, Ed Underwood, went all out and chartered the purportedly sea-worthy Santa Fe for a day of buoyant relaxation for himself, his 9 adult children and their spouses. Loaded up with compressed air tanks manufactured by the esteemed Catalina Tank Co., plastic cups, bags of ice from the Coral Gables Pump N Save and ample quantities shrimp cocktail and wine coolers, the Santa Fe was surely more than equipped for a slideshow-worthy Underwood Family mini-getaway. What more could they possibly need? Approximately 18 minutes into the journey, the omission was painfully obvious when, from the top deck, Eddie Junior’s wife, Diane, expressed dermatological discomfort in the form
of an expletive at high volume. The Underwoods were without sun protection factor and family nautical fun was in serious jeopardy. Luckily, Edina’s husband, Steve, was a close personal friend of Vacation®’s own Regional Sales Director & Part-Time Company Accountant, Ray Smith, and knew Vacation® headquarters were roughly .42 nautical miles from the Santa Fe’s coordinates. A static-laden call was made from Ed Senior’s bag phone and Ray promised to meet the needy Underwoods at the HQ dock, armed with styrofoam coolers filled with Vacation® Brand Classic Lotion.
