Congratulations Sharon and Rich Schroeder, winners of the Vacation® Steel Drum Freestyle Dance-Off. When it was announced that the world famous Nutones Super Band was held up due to a sunset cruise run aground, other contestants departed the cherrywood parquet dance floor, but Sharon and Rich were not deterred. Rich simply grabbed their small, baby blue boombox and popped in a Nutones “Calabash” cassette. Sharon wowed with her pop n lock moves while Rich took, as he later described to press, “a sort of waving palm sway” approach. The audience of three could barely contain themselves and Sharon and Rich, generous of spirit, invited them onto the dance floor for a steel drum dance finale number that would have made the Nutones Super Band very proud indeed. Congratulations once again both!
