A Vacation® historical site, Umbrella #8 stands proudly along the tranquil coastline of the Vista Mar Resort and Spa, an official sister location of the Vacation® HQ. Legend has it that Vacation® founder Marty Bell, Sr. worked long hours at the Vista Mar as one of the hotel’s finest Umbrella Attendants in his youth. Later, Bell would reflect upon his role at this time as critical in understanding the true meaning of peak leisure, quality beach towels, stable shade technology, and high performance SPF.
It was in fact, this very umbrella under which our founder sat when the cornerstone concepts of Vacation® came to fruition, and where Bell made it his mission to pursue the “Excessively Good” and “Leisure-Enhancing” SPF protection that has become synonymous with the Vacation® Sunscreen Company that we all know and love today.
