Kenneth and Donna Thompson (pictured above) quite literally took their leisure "to new heights" last weekend with a series of mid-air spikes at the 38th Annual Vacation® Couple's Volleyball Championships held at Wailea Beach in Maui.
After a refreshing dip in the cold bath, followed by a quick round of Floridian-style "Rock-Paper-Scissors" to determine who would serve first, the couple took to the courts with one goal in mind: to take the gold.
Match after match, the Thompsons dominated the court with perfectly timed sets, strategic digs, and impeccable drop shots. But one move, in particular, left the audience in awe: "The Towering Thompson." A flawless maneuver in which Kenneth raised Donna in the air for enhanced vertical leverage and a game-winning spike.
Needless to say, the Thompsons were crowned champions once again this year. And their victory was appropriately awarded a well-deserved 50% discount voucher for Aloha Joe's Pub & Eatery (appetizers only).
