Nadia and Drew Montague-Fitzgerald (pictured above) each enjoying an exceptionally light and fiscally prudent refreshment after a fervent bidding at the Kensington Palm Tree Auction in Miami, Florida.
As avid collectors of exotic flora, the couple knew the opportunity to own a rare and majestic palm tree was not one they were going to miss. And as soon as the auctioneer rolled in a magnificent "Chilean Wine Palm," Nadia and Drew already began planning arrangements to fit it in their beach house.
The bidding was fierce, with a crowd of well-heeled leisure enthusiasts vying for the prestigious evergreen palm. With a firm grip on their bidding paddles and champagne glasses, Nadia and Drew locked eyes and silently communicated their intent to secure the Chilean Wine Palm at any cost. And cost it did, as the bidding quickly surpassed their initial budget.
But with a sudden burst of rosé-fueled determination, Drew raised his hand and shouted a bid that nearly cleared out their entire travel fund. The crowd gasped in their lounge chairs and Nadia held her breath, but to their surprise, the auctioneer announced that the couple had won the prized tree.
Ecstatic, they celebrated their purchase with champagne and hors d'oeuvres under the shade of their new acquisition. And while their travel funds were now exhausted, the couple knew they’d enjoy a vacation at home this year with their beautiful, brand new Chilean Wine Palm.
