It is a core value that we mindfully consume, so although these pieces are more expensive, you can wear and treasure them for your whole lifetime as opposed to consuming many ‘costume jewellery’ pieces and discarding them after only a couple of wears.
And when we compare the amount of money we spend on 1 x high quality piece vs many x (often plastic) fashion accessories ~ we are sure that the latter ends up costing us more.
