r e f l e c t i o n s • If you 'get high' from being alone, stop apologising to the world.
I've spent a lifetime starting a conversation, email or text with 'Hey - I'm sorry, I'm just really shit at responding'. Actually no - that's an excuse, I'm not.
Taking solo space is an ingredient of my nature and I spend a lot of time alone. And if it takes me a few days to get back to you, that's 'Alex normal'.
Don't feel guilty or like you are letting people down. If relationships are conditional to constant physical presence, they will fall away. And those that know you, will love you for you, even during the long absences.
It's taken me a long time to give myself permission to honour my strong introverted spirit.
A long time to release the need to constantly please or live up to standards, forever falling short (in my own mind) to the expectations of the people in my life, in my business, in my extended family.
Living for others is exhausting and only leaves you empty and busy. The love I feel for those in my life runs HEART DEEP - and even if I don't see a person for months or years, the love doesn't alter. Because connection goes far beyond physical - and if you're not connecting to what you need and embracing who you are, you cannot show up as the most authentic YOU - a nourished you. And you most definitely won't show up as the best version for others.
Mantra : Embrace the space, move gently... ☺️
