What an honour... And privilege it is to share space with women. Especially when we circle together in celebration of one particular woman's transition from womanhood to motherhood....
To honour her capability to bring new life to this earth. To raise her up, filling her with sweet sister strength, encouragement and courage. To cultivate not just 'physical readiness' but more so and more importantly - the emotional, mental and spiritual prowess. To direct our words and energy as the sacred circle around that Mumma-to-be with the intention of reminding her of just how intuitive, connected and supported she really is.
A Blessing Ceremony is a tradition descending from the Navajo women :: deep, deep gratitude and respect for their gift and wisdom to which modernised versions of their ritual touches thousands of women globally. We are deeply privileged to feel so passionate about this ritual. And the importance of it here in the West.
It is pure art and love in motion as we watch groups of women weave magic. To witness the connection that ALL women share, regardless of age, religious preferences, race, geographic location is unspeakable. We celebrate you... Us. All women, whether we are, can be or choose to be birth Mummas. We are all in essence, Mothers.
