H O M E || is where the heart is. The new VG studio is situated in the Gold Coast hinterland where my siblings and I grew tall. Returning here to create with my sister after India has been a beautiful surprise. Before India, I operated from Kirra on the southern end of the Gold Coast, where there is distraction a-plenty. Coffee dates, Yoga classes and lots of people around just generally being busy. And I loved it. But this change feels good. To simplify, to have no phone reception, no noise at night and a family space where each one of us is a creative of some sort. We are all creating, dreaming and building different ventures and I love being here during this time. A kind neighbour let us pull this rustic baby out for free yesterday. It has been sitting in an overgrown paddock for at least 20 years. My Dad, his friend Ken and our two adorable partners towed our new "piece of paradise" into our property. We will be restoring her to become the Violet Gray space. As you can hear, our Dad thinks this is a great idea too! We will update you as the process evolves and our baby is nourished and re-born. Here is to embracing romantic projects, recycling, reinventing, staying open and daring to dream!
