I would climb down the timber staircase each morning and my Dad would ask me how the flight was today. He would say ‘let me see if your wings have grown overnight (wings = shoulder blades) and he would inspect them as I explained that there was lots of rain over the mountains on my journey that morning, or that the sun felt extra hot. Connecting in with my imagination and feeling expansive with my vision was a magical gift of a creative and simple early childhood. ⠀⠀ The other day, a beautiful friend (@tessguinery I’m looking at you) text ‘thank you for being such an earthed friend —not too earthed though, thanks for having wings too’. ⠀⠀ I can’t stop thinking about what it feels like when our wings are in full flight —when the motion is fluid and aligned. And equally, when our wings feel clipped. Do you feel your own ‘wing difference’? ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Since having my sweetest (sweetest!!) son just four weeks ago, my wings feel like there is a new vitality; a slow and welcomed fresh breath beneath them. The creative pulse and slow reflection since his entry, hums gently. ⠀⠀ There is so much power in presence ? And in a pause ☁️ ⠀⠀ My wish is that you too don’t forget your wings... and what it feels like to be in your flight. ‘How was your journey in today?’ ? ⠀⠀ { Captured by @drishti_videography??} #violetgrayreflections
