In Portugal, on the green hill of Serra di Sintra, five hundred meters above sea level, the Palais de Pena (Palácio da Pena) is the former summer royal residence. The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the seven wonders of Portugal. The Pena Palace in Sintra is created in the spirit of eclecticism, combining the Moorish, Neo-Gothic styles with elements of neo-Renaissance and the Middle Ages. Opinions about this creation are contradictory: someone considers the castle a fruit of bad taste, a combination not combinable, for someone Pena is a palace-fairy tale. But all agree on one thing: this building is unique, there are no analogues in the world.

Fact of Climate Change: Global temperature rise. The planet's average surface temperature has risen about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit (0.9 degrees Celsius) since the late 19th century, a change driven largely by increased carbon dioxide and other human-made emissions into the atmosphere. Most of the warming occurred in the past 35 years, with the five warmest years on record taking place since 2010. Not only was 2016 the warmest year on record, but eight of the 12 months that make up the year — from January through September, with the exception of June — were the warmest on record for those respective months. 💚 @nasa
