Yesterday we dove in the Silfra fissure with the awesome crew at @dive.is! The rift is basically a crack in the earth caused by tectonic drift between the North American and Eurasian plates. As the plates pull apart at a rate of 4cm per year, glacial runoff fills the gap with uber clean and SUPER cold (3 degrees Celsius) water! We shot this rad @gopro selfie (without a dome!) moments before plunging into the frozen abyss!
