Marine scientists Peter Traykovski and Hanu Singh of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute built an autonomous jet drive kayak called the "Jetyak" They're tuning it up for upcoming missions in Greenland where they will use the Jetyak to sample water underneath glacier overhangs. The risk of glacial calving makes these areas too risky for manned expeditions.
