Heading in after a day on the Columbia river with teams from the Navy and U.S Geological Survey to study the strong currents in the area using GPS tracked drifters. When fresh water runs down from the mountains, into the river and out to the ocean, it meets the salty seawater in a head on collision that is visible at the surface.
