After nine hours of red eye driving and a nail in our tire, we ended up in this magical place to celebrate this magical wedding.

The clouds were ominous but glowing for the entire ceremony. We powered through family formals faster than I maybe ever have as the rain promised that it was coming within minutes.

And then the skies opened up. Mike and Maddy danced in the rain and we all had the best time. Everyone laughed and I’m pretty sure everyone cried, too.

The only thing I still wanted was to get back out into the vineyard but the rain wasn’t letting up. Until it did. And then the golden light just poured over the North Carolina mountains and through the clouds. It was one of those pinch-me-is-this-real-life moments.

This whole weekend felt surreal. It’s such an honor to get to be in such epic places and we’re just grateful to be back at it again 🙌🏼
