Hello friends! We thought it would be a great time to introduce ourselves to some of our new ones. If we haven’t met already, my name is Lissette and my husband’s name is Clay. We are both Texas natives. I was born and raised in San Antonio, while Clay is from the Texas Hill Country. We are newly weds as well! Got hitched on 10/10/2020! Last year, with the pandemic and the uncertainty of food supply, we decided to start Harwell Homestead. A country boy through and through, Clay is no stranger to farm living. I, on the other hand, am a city girl/foodie transformed country gal, although, I’m avidly learning the ropes and loving it! One thing that has been very important for us is growing and raising everything on our homestead organically and sustainably. We have such an appreciation for the earth and the abundance it provides. We wanted to make sure that how we grow our crops and raise our animals will contribute to the earth rather than destroy it. Not to mention, doing so actually increases the flavor and nutrients of what we consume, satiating and energizing us to keep doing the things we love. A win-win! This year we started extending the fruits of our labor with others. We hope they bring you as much pleasure and joy as they do to us! ❤️
