Landed in Maui today and finally crossed a destination off my bucket list!! ?? That’s right - Robin and I have never been to Hawaii before, which on the West Coast is a rarity I have learned. All you Californians grew up with Hawaii as your backyard for family trips, but growing up in the Midwest, I have a VERY different viewpoint on Hawaii vacations. It’s expensive flying from Wisconsin to Hawaii (talking easily 3-4k to fly a family of four out, and that’s the flights alone!) And then that’s not even taking in consideration hotels, food, things to do… as you can imagine, growing up, only the very rich took their families to Hawaii for Spring break, or you went on your honeymoon or your retirement celebration. It’s a special, once in a lifetime place to visit….And then I move to San Francisco and everyone is shocked I haven’t been to Hawaii yet. Ya’ll are lucky dogs for getting to play in beautiful Maui so much - I landed and fell in love! I’m feeling very blessed to be here right now. *
