I wear a white shirt for every woman who has been affected by ovarian cancer.
In Australia, one woman dies every eight hours from ovarian cancer. There is no early detection test. In the early stages, there are no symptoms, so most women aren’t diagnosed until the late stages of the disease- but when detected and treated early, 80 to 100% of women will survive beyond five years, compared with only 20-30% diagnosed at a late stage.
2021 marks Witchery’s 13th annual White Shirt Campaign, in partnership with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. The campaign’s mission is to raise much needed funds to support vital research endeavours to develop an early detection test for ovarian cancer.
