Over the past 12 years, WITCHERY - via the @ocrf - has been the single largest funder of ovarian cancer research in Australia. WITCHERY’s donations of over $13.8 million to the OCRF have contributed to more than 35 research projects and medical achievements across Australia, including: — The appointment of dozens of specialised research scientists and research assistants. — Continuous funding of Andrew Stephens and his project team at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research since 2009. — The development of a potential early screening tool, the Active Ratio Test – clinical trials commenced in 2018. — The purchasing of equipment including a number of -180°C freezers and two -86°C freezers to store ovarian cancer tissue samples. — The purchasing of a Mass Spectrometer – a discovery tool for identifying specific protein profiles in bio fluids of ovarian cancer. — A Gell Spot Cutter – used to help cut gel spots containing protein for analysis in the Mass Spectrometer.
