Of course I'm the only one stupid enough to be on the side of this mountain in a storm. Wind warnings aside, it was amazing. If I wasn't trudging through two inch deep standing water, I was rock hopping my way up creeks (let's call them washouts). And crossing “bridges” which were really fallen trees with grip tape nailed into them. After getting turned around and back tracking three times I nearly gave up. But I kept going. Graciously, I got to where I thought I needed to be, fumbled with my circa 1980s tripod (I need to invest in a real one) while my fingers started to seize from the cold air. And snapped this shot. Until now I have no idea where I ended up. But upon my descent I was blessed with a view of clear skies over the rest of metro Vancouver. Something for me to keep. So I smiled, laughed, and shook my head and laughed again. I thought about all the things that brought me here. All the things that make me this bull headed person not willing to turn back at every miscue. Thank you Burke mountain; you were a rough first date.
