Yardzen project number☝️// Yardzen began here in 2017 after the Tubbs Fire destroyed the Calistoga neighborhood of founders Adam and Allison Messner. Miraculously, the blaze spared the Messner’s historic farmhouse, but it devastated the surrounding property. Determined to return home with their young kids, Allison and Adam set out to restore the landscape.
The Messners started by hiring a landscape designer, who quoted them at $15k just for the design. The price, paired with mid-day visits and endless phone calls was not an option for the young, busy family. Allison and Adam knew there had to be a better way.
So, the two tech entrepreneurs set out to create Yardzen, the first-of-its-kind online landscaping platform. At 1.5 years, our team of expert designers, architects, horticulturalists, and contractors, have completed over 1,500 designs and been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens, Domino, Sunset, and more!
