I'm sure everyone is aware of the current situation in the AFG. I usually keep topics neutral, but I do feel that it's important to give the floor to those who have and are experiencing it.
From a personal note, I can only express and relate to the OIF 2011 feeling, which was a mix of disbelief, acceptance, anger and confusion watching everything unravel on TV while sitting in a waiting room at the VA. A lot went through my head, past memories, events, people who did and didn't survive. Watching old battle sites essentially being handed off in a manner that made you question alot. At the end, the only solemn answer I could give myself was that I did what I could, with what I had for the people that were around me. It felt like a big grey area that still has its voids, but yet it had a clear harsh reality to it...that sometimes, shit just doesn't end how you would want it. Carry on.
