1917. 💀💀💀💀 out of 5
An amazing fucking film for various reasons. For starters, a good WW1 movie was long overdue, and since we post alot of pieces from the Great War, went in there with high expectations and didn't dissapoint.
The production, scenery, soundtrack, cast and realism are top notch. If this was shot with anything but continuous, it wouldnt have the same effect (which makes the production 10x more challenging)
It does a great job portraying human instinct, survival and emotion. It's a journey through hell and various stages of life and death. Sceneray was outstanding. There are lots of entries from real soldiers who fought describing that it only took a few miles of walking to see the difference between the war and the untouched world.
There is not much action, but when there is, it's worth it. The cast really delivers. No detail went amiss, down to very small item. If you're a fan of WW1 and want realism, highly suggest you watch it. Don't go in thinking it's a band of brothers or platoon, cause its not..different spectrum.
Side note: the sneak peak trailer showed untouched grass and trenches and everyone went ape shit about it...when you watch, itll make sense. #1917 #ww1 #stayzero #zerofoxtrot
