Never miss a chance to thank a vet. The act of being grateful should always go beyond Veteran's Day. The sacrifices that our warriors make are on the daily basis and even though we live in a time where priorities are fucked up, a small gesture of appreciation goes a long way.
ZF has given me the opportunity to document my appreciation towards our nation's finest. I met this WW2 veteran as he was sitting in the booth in front of me. I asked the waitress to bring me his check and that I would take care of it. As I was getting ready to leave, I shook the man's hand and thanked him for his service. Without hesitation, he struck a conversation, asked me to join him and we set there talking about everything in life. No one is asking to pay for meals, but simple gesture goes a long way. There are many who don't have the opportunity to be personally thanked because their gesture was to sacrifice it all for us.
